State Route 34 Bypass Widening
(Coweta County, GA)

Wolverton & Associates, Inc. successfully completed the concept, database, preliminary plans, right-of-way plans and final plans for this 3.5-mile widening project in Newnan. The proposed roadway section consisted of two through lanes in each direction, a 28-foot raised concrete median, bike lanes, curb and gutter and sidewalk. The project also included the replacement of five existing traffic signals, the addition of three new traffic signals, the replacement of a bridge over the CSX railroad and a new bridge over Snake Creek.

This widening project followed the GDOT Plan Development Process (PDP) which required continual coordination with GDOT's District 3 office for roadway design, signal design, utility coordination and right-of-way acquisition.
