The Wolverton & Associates, Inc. (W&A) Traffic Engineering Department was established in 2000. Our professional and experienced traffic engineers and CADD designers provide mobility and safety solutions for motorists and pedestrians alike. Whether we are working on large on-call projects for the Georgia DOT, or new signal designs for a private sector client we are responsive, innovative and provide cost-saving solutions. Our team has completed over 500 traffic signal designs and upgrades and managed over 100 signal timing corridor projects.

Currently W&A has four Project Managers that are International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Level II Certified.  The Traffic Signal Level II Certification indicates the holder has a well-rounded background in traffic signal technology from coursework and experience. The Level II Engineering certification indicates the technician has additional training on traffic signal control system planning, design, theory of operation, and legal/regulatory issues.

W&A maintains a fully functional Traffic Signal Laboratory that allows our engineers the ability to test various forms of signal operations in a controlled environment so that a safe and efficient operation can be verified before implementing in the field.  The lab equipment includes a full size 332 cabinet with wired inputs as well as numerous 2070 controllers.  The cabinet is hardwired to a test board so that outputs may be monitored for accuracy as per the operation being tested.  A secondary benefit includes the ability to train our junior engineering staff with various cabinet and controller operations.
